Calling all Life science graduates!! Are you still here?

Are you a Life science graduate working in different sector?
Share an exact reason behind your choice.

Science exists whether we believe it or not. No students could forget scientific theories they learned during schooling. As science is a diverse subject categorise many fields, growth of life science emerged enormously from past decade due to necessity of technology development.

Science stands for passion, without the deliberate interest, success on scientific revolution is impossible to attain.  Most of us might remember our first biology lab practical by covering ourselves with lab coats, using basic forceps, pipettes, colourful solution all. It should be a class hours for some students and favourite period for some. The second part of people falls in love with science more often. Even after spending years of education in life science, we could frequently notice some of them in different career sector, particularly in developing countries like India. Even on my personal experience, it happened to large quotient of people who graduated with me.

I wish to analyse, whether they lack the interest or situation drives them in impassive path? True restreaking reason behind their choice still remains suspicious.
Apart from working on research laboratories and pharmaceutical industries, most people still happy to use their scientific words as a medical transcriptionist /Medical coders, in contrary some are with banking/IT sector. In my perspective, this could happen because of their insufficient competency in practical skills or by financial hike on other sector.

'' Oh no... that Viruses are different from laboratory ones !!! ''

I am posting this discussion here for probing all life science people to persuade exact reason for their career choice in different sectors to solve that meticulous issue as we are in need of fresh rational for newer discoveries.

Not much job availability in India, lesser wages are the reason for change from microbiology to marketing profession.

Transparent reason is we are not getting enough practicals to meet industrial needs. way to get internship is lesser when compared to other fields. Job availability is more in IT sector

Besides the fact that opportunities are very less in sciences compared to other fields, we should be more deserving and skilled enough for the desired job. I feel, as budding science people, students should make up their minds not to look for jobs after graduating. And science should be taught with more practical sessions and with experts to have a sound knowledge not merely as curriculum.
Also, reaching the dream career will take a lot of life time and most students tend to settle down, may be after a post-graduation or Ph.D ,which ultimately forces them to take up whatever they'r been offered. This is the main reason behind many career shifts from Science to other fields.
