Am I a Scientist??

Do you ever possess this question in your mind? If yes, this post is for you!

What makes a scientist in certainty? Doctoral degree or working on a position titled ‘Scientist’ is very important for your professional growth and to accomplish your research ideas into reality. But what are the options left for the pool of people who possess all the talents, good education and interest but still standing behind the crowd due to circumstances and regrets or being in a lab analyst role for such a long time.

Here I summarise some tips to uplift and design yourself rather than looking for good builder. Just a passion and ambition is not enough for long term goal. Do you possess a sort of pain and flame deep in your heart and mind. Don’t you ever get fulfilled by working in biotech / Pharma Company? Do you wish to bring your discovery as a base to all the present developing method, like to establish ultimate change to all the practices now same as the ‘Discovery of wheel’? Here we go!!

Forget about your resume, start thinking from your high school days till now. It could start from your favourite teacher. List what are all the influences you have gathered from your education, through people around you. Think deep on which particular topic surprised you more. Sum up whether you discussed your views for any unanswerable diseases? How much happiness do you possess whilst meeting senior people in your field? Have you ever feel that they are like your reflection?  Yes, I do.
If your realised these all, it is really a happy news, you are on the way or being in a state of Scientist.

''Live in your world of Science to realise Happiness''

We all know that research is a trial and error method, still we investing millions of money and a lot of time in finding clues atleast to get close to find a remedy. Choose your interested topic, start to search related articles, have an eye on to the research centres and scientists participating in that specific project, gather what are their views and predictions for chosen disease (And more importantly how long they doing that research for).
Most of our laboratory researches are ‘hide and seek’ game between the scientists and pathogens, that’s so it’s called Re-search. There is absolutely nothing to bring apart from here. At times, we are just in need of thinking in totally different angle, most of the biggest discoveries are happened by chance; let’s recall ‘Penicillin’ here.
I remember the appreciation I have received recently on a public seminar regarding Parkinson’s disease. I still don’t know how mad my question is to the experienced senior scientists; still I wish to clarify my doubt. On the presentation, they sum up all the biochemical, oxidative stress and body mechanism of dopamine and its deficiency or unavailability in brain for Parkinson’s disease.Dopaminergic drugs suggested to the patients at times results in severe effects and prolonged intake induce severity. So, occupational therapy and remedies through stem cells are under promising research.

That’s where I got my doubt: We all know that human brain is a very complex organ of our body, and many neurotransmitters and its roles are still suspicious. Why don’t we consider some other (X neurotransmitter) go in hand to induce this Parkinson disease, why alone dopamine from Substantia nigra? Is there any other nerve cell could have the capability to secrete dopamine? I have been explained with no possibilities for such a case, still I am happy to get good recognition for my question. Your active participation on seminars and writing opinions on scientific forum could create a greater impact on your scientific thinking and valuable chance to meet scientific brains behind every research. Start to deliberate by assuming yourself as a scientist; surely you could shine.

How come it possible? Find out Where we missing the gap to determine the cure for Cancer, Alzheimer’s disease or Parkinson disease as a valued example. All of this could be the two different sides of anatomy, but we have to see all these in similar way as these have many more similarities. These are the major diseases we are focussing in current trend, all of these are slightly developing inside our body by our body's own mechanism, occurs due to mutation or deficiency, there all are mostly diagnosed at the later stage of disease with huge severity. At times I feel the most of the valuable research has been evolved with no advancements. Let’s think about the origin of evolution, Newton’s theory, Mendel’s discovery, discovery of vaccination, antibiotics discovery of origin of Parkinson’s disease - mostly everything. Where we missing the actual gap in real still we are with plenty of technology advancements? I think, we are just focussing and improving the given base rather than inventing the new phenomena.

We Just Need these Two Legends

I believe the theme, everything has pre written. Do you have a research theme in your mind to answer any disease; really a scientist doesn’t need a supervisor, but surely they are in need of possible opinions from senior researchers. All the major trusts, government and public investing in billions to research organisations and yes, many researchers and scientist working hard to find the solution and already they have given tons of answers to many complications. Still we are in delay to find an exact cure for some - waiting not just a week, month or year. We all are waiting still; we could give just the improvement, not a complete solution. If I hear someone died from cancer or affected by dementia – I feel so bad, not just because of their pain, but I know that I (we) am responsible for their disease not by source but via not producing them a solution. Ask question to yourself-Why these nations build us as a biotechnologist, just to knock the doors for PhD or to get a salary hike as a biologist? Some of us are not coming under that list.

Invest just an opportunity rather than billions. We could bring a solution together. As we know research is a trial and error method, why don’t you take opinions from educative to join your team? We are here to fight against a disease to find a solution quickly and effectively.

I have created this post in support of the people who willing to find a resolution and looking for opportunities. If you are a senior researcher or scientist, give a chance to a person from very basic background with lots of research passion. Creating a public forum according to disease categories and to make an effort to receive views from public, students, educative or some other scientists could induce transparent message sharing and by chance we could get some useful tip/clues to getting closer in our research.  If you doing it already, my wishes for your success. At times, no need for research secrecy and patents if someone is dying with pain and accept my apologies if I conversed anything wrong.
